Life’s too short to do it on your own
Almost a month! Gosh, that’s quite a long time. Sorry, it seems to me that life got in the way this past month and I neglected my blog. Today’s topic is one that’s been bouncing around my brain for a while.
I love the thought that we control the outcome of any situation. We can literally be the good we wish to see in the world.
It’s my personal belief that while this life can prove to be challenging, god’s mercies are proven to be even greater. I know for a fact that he puts people into your life specifically for a reason. It could be a kind smile, a treat, a hug, an inspiring story, you name it!
I also strongly believe in angels, both in spirit and body. My favorite painting ever hangs in my Grandma Mary-Jean’s kitchen. It’s a painting of the pioneers as they came on their way to Salt Lake by way of handcarts. It shows these brave saints struggling through the snow, and then there are lighter, almost glowing beings painted struggling along side them. I get chills when I see these angels pushing alongside the saints. I love this picture because when I look at it I’m reminded that there are angels with us.
Above: Meet the three JCOM amigas. I love these ladies for their daring goals, bright smiles, kind hearts, great sense of humor, and courage to follow their dreams.
Upper Right: These lovely ladies are my roommates. They are amazing for their laughs, beautiful smiles, and positive attitudes.
In the gospel of Jesus Christ you have help from both sides of the veil, and you must never forget that. When disappointment and discouragement strike—and they will—you remember and never forget that if our eyes could be opened we would see horses and chariots of fire as far as the eye can see riding at reckless speed to come to our protection.
Angels with us, what a beautiful and positive thought that is! God would not forsake us and leave us alone. He is very aware of each and every one of us and provides a way for us to accomplish our purpose on this earth.
I’ve become pretty aware of some angels in my life lately. I’m honestly so grateful that god has blessed me with the family and friends that I have. They are simply amazing people.
So, I guess today’s post isn’t a funny story about socks or leggings. It’s a testimony and a witness that God really truly does live. He loves each and every one of us. I simply can’t deny it. There are angels surrounding us every day. We weren’t meant to walk this path alone.
We each have the opportunity to help another along the way too. That’s my challenge to myself, and to you. Be softer, remember to show kindness, smile more, and befriend those who may have no one else to turn to.
